and good morning to you Mr. Greenspan

Alan Greenspan has recently been quoted as saying: “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil.”

“‘…the Iraq war is largely about oil.’ Wow! go figure that.” (says papa herman with a hint of sarcasm.)

On the other hand most wars have been about a countries national interest. Rarely are they are the reasons we would hope for when people decied that arms is the best solution to a situation. In retrospect, if I was president and had my way, I would say to the victor goes the spoils like so many of our forefathers have. Many have forgotten how well the West could do war and how that mindset propelled the West.

Not that I think it is the best way and certainly not one which I think is Orthodox or even Christian. Just an observation.

you know what’s even more sad about all this is that i still know people
who believe the war really is about protecting us. i even know someone who truly believes that Iraq was the country that caused 9/11.
We are a country with so many rights that those before us fought so hard to have and instead of educatting ourselves and our children we sit on our asses. Recently i have been told that i care to much about my generation and younger generations needing to vote……….I didn’t know you could care to much about that kind of stuff.
